Overview
「TALKING / ONCE AGAIN」は、Kanye West（Ye）とTy Dolla $ignによるデュオ¥$のアルバム『VULTURES 1』（2024年）に収録された2部構成のトラック。2024年2月7日にInstagram・YouTube・X限定でプロモーション用先行公開され、翌2月8日にストリーミング配信が開始された。プロダクションはKanye West、Ty Dolla $ign、DJ Camper、Dom Maker、Edsclusive、James Blake、Swizz Beatzが担当。Part I「TALKING」はJames Blakeのボーカルと、Kanye Westの長女North Westの音楽的デビューで構成され、Part II「ONCE AGAIN」ではTy Dolla $ignが娘への思いと世代間の呪縛からの解放を歌い上げる。
タイトル「TALKING」は、問題を語るだけで行動しない相手への皮肉として機能している。コーラスラインの「You don't want no problems, you just—」はJames Blakeによって繰り返され、文章が「ただ口だけ」という含意とともにカットオフされる構造になっている。一方「ONCE AGAIN」は、雲が溜め込んだものを雨として解き放つ比喩を核に、感情の抑圧と解放、そして父親としての葛藤を描く。

James Blake
