Overview
「DEAD」は、Ye（Kanye West）のアルバム『BULLY』収録曲で、Future、Lil Durkが参加している。ATL Jacobがプロデュースを担当。タイトルの「dead」は物理的な死ではなく、「終わった」「もう用済み」というスラングとして曲全体に繰り返される。女性を使い捨てにする描写、抗争相手への警告、ラグジュアリーの誇示がコーラスを軸に積み重なっていく構造だ。
コーラスはFutureが中心となり、「she dead / they dead」という宣告を何度もリフレインする。Verse 1〜3はTy Dolla $ign、Lil Durk、Futureがストリートとラグジュアリーを交互に描く。薬物で過剰摂取した友人への言及（「Brodie OD'd off the Xan」）など、暴力と喪失が富の誇示と並列で語られる。

制作背景として、曲のベースにはFutureが2022年にリリースしたアルバム『I NEVER LIKED YOU』収録の「FOR A NUT」のバックシンセがサンプリングされている。アルバム『BULLY』はVultures 1&2（2024年）のリリース後に本格的に制作が進み、2026年3月28日にリリースされた。

本名Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn、1983年アトランタ生まれ。トラップとオートチューンを融合したスタイルで2010年代のヒップホップを方向づけた中心人物。アルバム『DS2』（2015年）や『HNDRXX』（2017年）で批評的・商業的成功を収め、Drakeとの共同作品『What a Time to Be Alive』でも注目を集めた。女性関係の描写や「Pluto」という自称（宇宙的な孤独感）など、ヒップホップにおける感情の剥離と快楽主義を象徴するアーティストとして評価される。

Lil Durk
